Phase 3 – Professional Development

Phase 3 – Professional Development

Phase 3 is the next step within the programme and is open to participants who have completed Phase 1 and Phase 2 and have received a positive evaluation at the end of Phase 2.

In Phase 3, we build on the knowledge, techniques and experience you have developed throughout the previous phases. The foundation you have built so far allows you to take this next step with confidence.

Development

  • Deepen your acting techniques.
  • Learn techniques specifically used for acting on camera.
  • How to work with a script.
  • How to study and prepare scenes.
  • Work on larger and more complex scenes.
  • Learn to apply your acting technique more consciously.
  • Gain experience working both on camera and on stage.
  • Bring your skills together and apply them within a short production.
  • Work on recorded scenes that can form the basis of your own reel.
  • Gain experience performing a production for a small live audience.

Structure

First 6 weeks — Camera & Scenes

We focus on camera techniques, larger scenes and script work. Scenes are recorded and refined throughout the process, allowing you to build material that can be used for your reel.

Second 6 weeks — Short Production

During these six weeks, we will work more intensively (3 hours) towards a final performance, which we will present to a small live audience.

Certificate

The complete programme consists of approximately 40 weeks. After successfully completing the programme, you will receive a certificate from Linear Arc Academy.

During these 40 weeks, you will develop your acting technique, personal growth and professional attitude. You will gain experience in improvisation, text work, scenes, camera and stage performance, while learning to apply your skills with increasing independence.

By completing the programme, you will have developed a solid foundation as an actor, together with a professional approach to your work. You will be able to apply your skills independently and continue developing towards small professional roles and supporting roles, as well as participating in amateur theatre productions at a strong level. The programme provides a solid foundation to build upon, but larger and more complex roles require further development, experience and continued training.
